Not Every Dispute Results In Court Action

A regular client had engaged a contractor to carry out refurbishment works to their home. A dispute arose when the contractor subcontracted the work to a third party who did not deliver the works to the standard promised in the scope of works and our client refused to pay for the work carried out up to that point.

Despite months of lengthy negotiations with the contractor by our client, the dispute hadn’t been resolved and now both parties were threatening court action. We were asked to review the dispute on behalf of our client and to enter into settlement negotiations.

Just 3 weeks after becoming involved we were able to negotiate a settlement on behalf of our client that he was absolutely delighted with. Sometimes all a situation needs is an objective third party to remove the emotion from the argument and very often a settlement is just around the corner.
