Introduction to our Probate Services

on January 15, 2019 Comments Off on Introduction to our Probate Services

When someone dies, their financial affairs need to be resolved by an Executor or Executors named under a Will or by a family member as an administrator where there is no Will. If you are acting in one of these roles and you have been asked to provide a “Grant of Probate” or “Grant of Letters of Administration” then you may wish to seek some legal advice.

How can we help?

FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION

We offer a free consultation of 30 minutes about administering an estate. During this consultation we will discuss the process involved in obtaining Probate and also administering the Estate in general. We will discuss the type of assets involved, look at the Will and try and answer any queries you may have about the process. At the conclusion of the consultation we will also be able to provide you with an estimate of costs should you wish us to assist you in obtaining Probate.

DIFFERENT LEVELS OF SERVICE –

  • Grant Only – We can assist with simply obtaining the Grant of Probate in an Estate – leaving you to collect in the assets, settle the debts and distribute the estate as per the Will or intestacy rules. With this option you can either collect all of the information about the date of death values of assets and liabilities yourself, or we can do this on your behalf.
  • Full Administration – Alternatively, we can assist you with the full administration of the estate. We can notify all relevant organisations of the death and collect the asset and liability death information, we will then prepare the necessary paperwork dealing with Inheritance Tax and obtaining the Grant, and we will collect in all of the assets and settle any outstanding debts. We can then prepare a full set of Estate Accounts and distribute the estate in accordance with the terms of the Will or Intestacy.
